Medovik: Eastern European Honey Cake

When I initially mentioned my baking hobby to my friend from Belarus and asked if she had any special requests, she promptly suggested "medovik." This is an Eastern European honey cake made up of layers with a sweetened sour cream filling. After spending hours baking the cake layers and letting it chill in the fridge overnight, we savored the nostalgia and rich taste of this delightful cake.
